5w20 or 5w30

I owned a 1995 3.8L V-6 Mercury Cougar that was spec'd to 5w30.

That was a "Fantastic" automobile, until the now ex-wife totalled it in January, 2001.

I really miss that Mercury Cougar to this day. I was so meticulous about keeping it in shape and following Mfgr's Specifications. I guess I miss it more now because my, now deceased, mother helped me pay for it when I lost my high paying professional position in 1998 due to state politics. Aw, sentimental value I suppose.

I wonder why Ford did not put the 3.8L into the Mustang?

The 3.8L had only 5 less horses than the 4.0L, and the torque was a little different between both motors, nothing substantial, in my opinion.

Anyone out there know why Ford did not use the 3.8L in the Mustang?

Labor contracts, maybe?

Where is/was the 3.8L made?
