I'm due for an oil change and with the arctic temps here to stay, would it be better for me to go with Durablend 5w20 or Shell 5w30 conventional that I have in my stash for colder starts and temps?

5W_ is pretty close to 5W_ when cold.
Look at pour point and cts40 spec's.
Generally I find lower (hot) weight thinner than higher (hot) at low temp.

You should be using a full synthetic oil, as the pour point is much lower than for the same given weight in a conventional or synthetic blend oil. You might even consider a 0W oil.

I'm using Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 right now in the same frigid temps. you are experiencing and it starts fine... Just my 2C's
If you already have the 5W-20 blend use it, otherwise buy the cheapest full synthetic 0W-20 or 5W-20 you can get.
