i know through search and fellow co workers its safe like rotella or mobil1 5w-40 but is it ok oil change after oil change? i usually use it once in a while for a nice cleanup but it went on sale at wal-mart by me so i bought 3 jugs. will it be ok to use all 3 in a row or is it a risk?

I think it's too heavy for GM 3400, specially for winter months. It may be okay for summer months, or you may want to buy some M1 0W20 to mix 50/50 with the 3 jugs you already bought and use it all year.

what about ading a quart of mmo they are 4 quart jugs so i need a quart of something anyway u think that will thin it enough? I was afraid all the detergents in it might not be safe for the seals and gaskets?

Using a quart of MMO in place of a quart of oil for a full OCI is too much for my liking. Using a quart of MMO for the last 500-1000 miles before changing oil is okay, many did it with good results.

M1 5W40 is a good synthetic oil, it's just too thick for your engine so that you need to mix with thinner oil, the best mix is with M1 0W20.

I run Mobil 1 High Mileage 10w-40 in my V6 Dodge with no problems......Manual calls for 5w30...Went to higher viscosity due to seepage. Maybe a bit thick for your New York winters though.

You could always do that. I run MMO with a Group IV synthetic for 10-12,500 miles no problem. Cleans up the engine nicely, and keeps it that way.

Spring is here and the bitter weather is gone. I know plenty of people in PA that run straight rotella 15w40 all year long and have done so there entire life in cars and trucks. Im not saying this is a perfect practice but three runs on 5w40 will most likely not hurt you.

Agreed - there have been at least one UOA on here that had Rotella Dino 15W40 paired with 1 qt MMO (on a Cadillac Northstar Engine) and the UOA was outstanding. I see no reason that you would not get the kind of results pairing RTS with MMO - you would get a high end 30wt result.

For reference, I have been running 1 qt MMO, full OCI, with PYB 5W30 for quite a while now and am very happy with the combo (my cars recommend 5W20, so this get me high 20 weight net effect)

Being a 5-40 means it is full synthetic. You can get away with it more readily. It should work OK, esp in summer. Not the best choice considering future gas prices, though.
You can always mix it with another oil, and utilize your stash that way.
