Hope someone can answer a question for me. I have a new F250 truck with a V10 on order and I was looking at the service manual and it calls for 5W-20 oil and no others. My question is that I use Schaeffers 5w-30 snythetic blend in the truck I currently own and was wondering if this would work in my new truck. I really would like to use Schaeffers brand oil but they do not list a 5W-20 on their web site.Is anyone on here currently using anything differnt than the 5w-20 in their fords. Thanks in advance for any info !!

We have an 03’ F250 5.4L at my work and I have an 04’ F150 5.4L and I use Pennzoil 10w-30 in both of them. My boss has an 04’ F150 5.4L and he uses Mobil 1 5w-30 in his. There is some guy on here that goes by Schmoe and he is from Ok and he has shown some good uoa’s on his 5.4L using I think and mix of M1 10w-30 with 15w-50. I think his truck is an 01’ or 02’

You will be just fine using a 5w30.

Heck, I'm using 5w40 in my '99 F150 with the related 4.6l V8. (although I likely will not be after running for a year due to fuel mileage losses).

This is great news that they have the 5W-20 now. I was really wanting to stay with Schaeffers, I really love their products!!
