55-56-57 chevys are great with lots of aftermarket support, but stock looks nice BUT functions poorly!! had a 56 belair 2 door sedan with mods but still lacking the function of newer cars, but will always be valuable!!

I had to double check this wasn't posted in the humor section. No thanks, That car looks ugly & I don't say that very often. To each their own though & if they're happy with the outcome.

56 is my favorite year. I don't know the production numbers but when I go to car shows the 56's seem more rare and hard to find. Favorite color for me is the turquoise without any white accents.

I’m not sure that’s the original chassis. Looks like a body transplant to me. I owned a ‘57.

And I agree with the above. The romance with the tri-5 was strong but dang man they are so crude by today’s standards. Give me fuel injection, rack and pinion, suspension geometry and electric wipers, airbags and crumple zones! Oh and AIR CONDITIONING. Ok well I lived without A/C for a long time - the massive floor-tube vents from the headlight cowls to the firewall were AMAZING, what were they, 5” - 6” ducts? But yeah - wonderful memories but I’m ok with the technology up to 2010. Newer tech seems to have complicated things, i say as my 3 month old Tacoma is at the dealer while the technician is speaking with “the engineers” about the trouble it’s having. DIY is getting harder and harder. The tri-5’s allowed DIY with open arms, and kinda required it.

Nice Chevy, but that looks like a rare '58 Caddy Limo in the background. I had a black one many years ago like Gram Parsons & the Flying Burritos had!

Curious... What don't you like? This was the way qtr mile cars were built back in the day. The light, lifted front end was for weight transfer to the rear.
This photo is from the annual American Graffiti Tribute in Petaluma, CA a few years back. I will try and be there this weekend.

I agree; each to their own.

Your link doesn't work for me. The car I like along with the engine but the lifted suspension just doesn't fit the car at all. Love lifted & lowered vehicles whole hearted but this lifted set up doesn't look good. No hood on it doesn't appeal either. If this is some sort of offroad drag race car, most of the time, then I understand it may need this combination & I'd agree fine but not for street cruiser appeal. Now the black two door you posted...
