Sorry for the late update, we just finished this last weekend and the rod bearings seemed to fix this. I had my doubts as well as others since it wasn't a normal, telltale rod knock. Wrist pins seemed good on all 6, bearings looked decent but I will get a mic on them to hopefully find the culprit, if not 2 of them. I did plastigage 5&6 and they were in spec but I didn't clean the upper before testing so maybe that skewed the results, but they measured about .0019-.0020, max is .0025. Didn't have time to check all 6 but wish I did for sake of science.
This is after the rod bearing change, sounds much better. We'll give it some time and monitor it but has been sounding good all week so far.
