A 2015 Jetta with just 64K miles on it. And someone is doing 50K OCIs on it. I don't get it.

just wait for the engine to seize up or fail and change the oil and the engine at the same time as one unit
No, that's some of the oil that leaked on his paper.
I own two 2015 Volkswagen EA288 TDI diesels. One has 37k miles and the other has 20k miles. The manufacturer interval is 10k miles. I have shortened that interval to about 8k and have used Red Line 5W30 Euro or Ravenol VMP. Even boutique oil is cheap compared to a new engine. I have started buying the M1 ESP Euro 5W30 504/507 for all the rigs I maintain except my DD. It will continue getting the Red Line.
It's callED correct grammar. And yes, 50k would be a logical next oci.
