I changed the oil this weekend on Buick LeSabre. Went with the new Mobil 5-quart jug. So much easier than buying five separate
quarts.

It would be nice if I could get a 4-quart jug for my Mazda instead of buying the individual quarts. Anyone know which oil manufactures sell both? I know Mobil makes some of their Diesel oil in the 4 quart jug. Truth be told, I haven't looked around that much.

You would think they would (Oil companies) since many Japanese imports have 4 quart sumps.

All of the oil companies sell their oil in NORMAL 4 qt jugs.

For the most part, ONLY Walmart gets 5 quart jugs that they sell for the 4 quart jug price that you'd pay everywhere else.

Let me guess that you buy your oil at Walmart?

Kmart oil is 4 quart jugs, but they are the same price or higher than Walmart's 5 quart jugs.

I forgot to add, that 5 quart jugs at Walmart are the same price as gallon jugs, kind of defeats the purpose.

Unless his vehicle has a 4 quart sump and then it makes perfect sense as he won't have an extra quart and nothing to do with it.

Advance auto sells the 5 qt of oil and filter now to match Walmart. so now I go to Advance now, even if its in qt bottles, i love to count as I add it in, or use to. Now I buy my oil and have someone else change it for 10 bucks.

What I have done is on my first 5 qt jug poured a qt into an empty oil qt bottle then used the remaining 4qts in the jug for an OC; pouring into a qt bottle is easier than trying to read the qt gauge on the side of the jug bottle that I am pouring from. I then pour the 1 qt of oil back into the jug and use the jug to collect the 1 qts from following jug purchased OC's until I have 4 qts for an OC. Having one car and performing OC's every 4 months will take a year to have a no oil purchase OC.

Meijer sells M1 in the 4 qt jugs also,on sale most times for $19.

i love the 5qt jugs all my stuff takes that much.

Use the four quarts in your Mazda (what kind?) then use the extra quart for lawn mower oil changes.

WM sells me 5Q jugs of PP. One needs to be carefull as I've seen 4Q & 5Q from the same manufacture at the same store. Fequently when I saw sales, I found it on the 4Q when I thought it was a 5Q. A 5Q jug of PP last cost me $22 but, if I bought it in quart singles it would have cost ~$28.50

Yep, I bought the latest oil from Walmart. I don't make it a habit but the 5 quart Clean 5000 was $11. I usually buy the Oil & filter deals from AZ or Checkers. Of course...those are 5 quart deals and that makes sense.

The Miata takes 4 quarts. I like the idea of pouring off 1-quart etc. It sure would be nice though if I could find both jugs at one store. And have deals.

Walmart has 5 quart deal (jug) on Pennzoil Ultimate Durability for $18. However, they are selling the individual quarts for $5.89 (or close). That does not make sense...
