4.3 Vortec Oil bypass valve

Does the 2003 vortec 4.3 have a built in oil pressure bypass valve? The recomended delco filter does not have a bypass valve so is it built into the block? Anyone know whats the bypass psi? 80 maybe?

Yes its built into the filter mount. Its 15 psi of DIFFERENTIAL across the filter for bi pass.

Make sure the delco is not an e core

If there is no bypass valve in the filter, then it is in the block or oil pump housing.

Im currently running a classic acdelco. PF47. Autozone has the classics still

Why? You can get a better filter at Wal-Mart for the same or less money?
Run a bosch, wix/napa gold, purolator, or motor craft

Probably gonna switch to pp after all my dino stash is used up. Only got about 12 qts

get some PF52's or Puro equivalent forgot the # off the top of my head. that is the spec filter for both my 91 and 01 Blazers. can is almost 2x length. doing 10K OCI's on the 01 w/AMS ACD oil, PP should get close to that depending on usage..
