30000 mile mobile 1 analysis

You could easily go for 30,000 miles on the oil change. The question will be how long will the car last and how bad will the oil look.

Seriously, what I was asking about the benifit of the bypass filter given that 1 quart of oil was drained and replaced every 3000 miles. In he changed the oil 3 times, once every 10,000 miles.

For me I would save the money on the bypass and change more often. How often, I go between 5000-7500, but I don't do analysis so I don't know how far I can push it.

When the bypass filter is changed at specified intervals,the oil is still clean.The whole point of bypass filters is the fact that the oil is analytically clean throughout it's entire service life.
With a spin-on filter,your oil gets more contaminated with every mile you run it.

Have you ever though about running without your full flow filter and just using the by-pass.

Bob told me that one ouf our members does this with excellent results.

BTW Don't let anybody pull you chain. 10 quarts Make-up or not those results are great.

Just for the record, I agree that the numbers are great. I just wish there was some more hard data on the bypass filters.

I don't understand why the bypass manufactures don't take a few identical cars, break them in for 10,000 miles while doing baseline used oil analysis and then take one car, add a bypass filter, have two others without. On one change the bypass according to their recommedations. The second change the oil and filter every 10,000. The third change the stock filter when the bypass is changed on the first and add the equivilant amount of makeup oil. Do used oil analysis on all of them every 5,000 miles and compare the data.

If the bypass filter is superior it should show. I would just like to see a controlled test that provides some type of conclusive proof.

Haven't really thought about it...but those numbers posted ..I might as well have not been using on...It was the cheapest GI joes fiter I could find...and I never changed for the entire 30000 miles.
Aas I have stated before I don't care on the opinion of others inreguards to the make up oil...I have really clean oil and that is all that matters to me...I just sent off a new sample to Schaffers lab with 10,000 miles on it and 2 fiter changes..should have the results in 3 weeks or so ...they are kind of slow
