3000 OCI-Why still?

I tried to go to a 5,000 OCI in one vehicle for the first time.
But I had more incentive than just to try it.

I've went 4,000 or a bit over I should say.
Havoline 10w30... Napa/WIX filter.

I'm I guess a half quart low now and the oil is dark.
Changing it next chance I get... and trying synthetic.

1) so what if it's dark?
2) why go synthetic when your conventional will run 4-5k?
3) in that case, try Motorcraft blend and run 5k with no worries

Because thats the interval recommended by car manufaturers for "severe service" which probably applies to the vast majority of driving.
