Maybe Pennzoil Platinum, as it's much more available and probably just as good in the real world. Also, don't overlook Valvoline Synpower for availabilty. It seems to pretty consistently turn in excellent used oil analyses.

I'll recommend PP also. I've had good used oil analysis on Pennzoil Platinum 5w20 on both my high mileage Escape and on my 06 Mustang GT. The Mustang has similar mods as your vehicle (very nice by the way). My climate is similar to yours, Texas.

I'm going to go w/ Pennzoil Premium unless I can spot Pennzoil Ultra again at my local Walmart.

I'd prefer the Amsoil but the reality is that it would cost 2x as much as good old PP that I can grab at any Walmart and now afford to change 2x as often.

Both are good products and both will easily take an engine to 400K + miles w/ proper oil changes.

I change the oil 2x per year. I'm going to run 0W-20 during the winter months and 5W-20 or possibly 5w30 during the summer months.

I'm just north of you at Ft Hood and it doesn't get cold enough here to justify a 0w-20 oil. I've got a 2011 Elantra 4 cyl and run Motorcraft semi-synthetic 5w-20 year round. My 2011 F150 with the EcoBoost V6 gets 10w30 PP year round, both oils from Walmart in 5qt jugs...

Something to remember, a 5w30 oil is always a 5 weight oil. It has additives so at operating temp it behaves like a 30 weight oil...

5/30 at least in the summer would be a good idea, i run it year round with no problems

if you could find Pennzoil Platinum or Pennzoil Ultra 0/30 that would be the ticket! but i dont even know if they make it...

I'd stick with the 5w20. In the Texas climate, you don't need 0w20, and a 5w20 would tend to be more shear resistant. Redline 5w20 would be absolutely shear proof, but because of its high HTHS, many on this board consider it to be a 30-weight.

I see you are in Austin, the Cedar Park Walmart on 1431 & 183 has Ultra. I was just there earlier this week. You can also try the one on 620 near 183 but I haven't been there in a while.

Pennzoil Platinum would be my choice, too. I'd go with 5W-20, too. You are spec'd for it plus your oil pressure shows it is plenty. I run it in my mom's 05 Mustang GT. Seems to love it, and used oil analysis show that Pennzoil Platinum 5W-20 is an exceptional oil. My personal favorite 5W-20 in any spec'd engine.
