Just an observation here by a curious BITOGer. At work today I did the break-in oil change on a John Deere Gator and John Deere commercial zero turn mower, both with Kawasaki engines. The Gator filter (left) is made in India. The mower filter (middle) is USA made, and the dealer replacement filter (right) is from Brazil. Just by looks and feel, the India made filter seems most robust and the replacement filter (Brazil) seems cheapest.

Interesting, all different COO's. Champ in the middle but that's as far as I know. That India does have the silicone ADBV which is better than the others but who knows which one you'll get next time?

Yes, you're right but since First Brands owns both they've been consolidating Fram under Champ. Champ is the one that does the re-branding for other companies as far as I know. So, that's why I mentioned Champ instead of Fram. It's confusing isn't it. :D
