3.6 Pentastar purge valve/misfire issues

why not 5W30? I am on 3.6 #5 and don't really see a downside to running 5W30. I am only at 28000 miles on my 2024 and have 3 jugs of 0W20 but as soon as that is gone going to go with 5w30.

You can run whatever, doesn’t seem to have any effects on the rocker failures. I’ve been running 5w30 since I dumped the factory fill and my rockers on bank 1 failed at 85k miles, then bank 2 failed at 118k miles.

it really does suck, curious if you were running oil analysis's along the way? I change oil way early but there have been enough cam failures to warrant concern.

I look forward to tearing into my early 2012 when it finally comes time. 178k and other than the 62te which is a different story, seemingly no issues with the 3.6
This is why it’s hard to just do rockers preemptively - this one will go 100k - that one goes 200k. I know some have done the infamous oil cooler when getting into the valve-train etc …
I just made 50k and 6 years with zero issues on the Jeep - so for now will just listen closely for a new sound in that clacky motor.

My 2019 has developed an idle I swear is rougher than it used to be. About 60k on it. No codes and I can't be certain because I don't drive it that often and I've always felt the Pentastar had a rough idle even off the dealer lot.
