Shipping is over $16 for one quart bottle. Yikes.

Yeah, but that is real world pricing for shipping, price of a box to ship it in, and packaging. None of us business owners can dictate pricing to UPS or FedEx; or USPS for that matter.

I ship stuff too, and it's not any cheaper to ship with a business (not much anyway).

If you wanted to get a real world comparison, box up one quart of oil and go to a UPS store. Get an estimate of how much it would cost you (personally) to ship that quart to the vendor (HPL).

I think you would find that your price would be much higher than what HPL is charging.

We all have been spoiled by Amazon, but in the small business arena, there isn't enough volume (hundreds of thousands shipments per day) to get lower volume pricing from any of the shipping companies.

I myself just bought 6 qts and the shipping cost per quart goes down quite a bit.

I see, you're right. I shipped a motor mount earlier this year through USPS. I believe it was about $16. I guess huge companies can afford to eat the shipping cost to make their brand more appealing.
