Would you run this 20k in a 2014 4.0 Toyota 4runner?

Is there a mileage rating on the box? Is the inside of the engine clean - ie, does it look very clean when looking inside the oil filler hole?

I mean, just by the photos? Oh heck yes. That thing looks high quality compared to others I’ve seen. The pleats look nice and uniform all around (Probably synthetic) There’s metal end caps. There is a metal core. There is even a rubber gasket at the top of those caps to seal it to the housing better.

What did that thing cost? That has to be a $20 dollar filter, no?

I’m running a Fram Ultra right now in my Toyota, it looks good, but nothing like that thing.

Royal Purple doesn't give a mileage rating, they just call it an "extended life oil filter" I'd say run it as long as you'd run a fram Ultra, or a TRD Oil Filter, since I believe these are Identical to the TRD filter.
Sure looks that way, and both made by Champ Labs.

A well made cartridge, if you choose to, 20k mi. doable imo.

Several months ago I emailed RP with the same question. Still haven't received a response. Poor customer service.

I know that Amsoil oil filters, which are similar if not the same as Royal Purple filters, claim to be able to be used for up to 25,000 miles under optimum circumstances with 15,000 miles being their standard recommended usage. I personally would go no more than 15,000 miles but I can't stop anyone from doing anything otherwise.

Actually ordered from Walmart. Was $16.75 when i ordered but has crept up to $19.10. It does look identical to a TRD filter. I may give 20k a go on this one when the time comes to change the oil. Would be two 10k OCIs.

Oil filter longevity is determined by only one thing… engine cleanliness.

If your engine doesn’t produce a bunch of carbon between your average oil changes, you can definitely 2x the filter usage without any negative side effect.

The filter media itself can handle it. Your main concern should be a completely loaded up filter to where it starts restricting oil flow.

These questions about how long you can run an oil filter are extremely annoying. We can’t give any reasonable advice without seeing how much carbon is collected in your oil filters. Post some pics.

It also depends on the holding capacity of the media, and the total surface area of the media. Not all media is created equal, nor can hold the same amount of debis per square inch.

Isn't Royal Purple suppose to be an Amsoil copy?
