Now THAT is a Toyota I’d actually be interested in if it was in the budget. I don’t think I’ve ever said that about a Toyota product.

Although I’d want the features I’m used to in my Tesla like phone as a key, a good mobile app, and seamless route planning. And FSD but it’s Toyota so one thing at a time…

Tesla, are you listening? We need a normal looking boxy three-row SUV on the Cybertruck platform.

Am I reading this right that Highlander is EV only now? WTH Toyota?
Is this (EV) the ONLY new Highlander that is going to be released or is this just the first of the new releases and it just happens to be the EV? If this it, it's an absolutely silly decision for so many reasons.

The reports I've read said EV Only.I just don't understand what Toyota is doing the past few years.
I just don't understand Toyota's decisions lately. This move alienates their traditional customers, most of whom do not want an EV, myself included.

I believe this is a NEW EV only release. There are comments in the media or Toyota themselves, it was designed from the ground up as an EV. Toyota has still more to release on the vehicle but I am almost 100% certain of this.

The EV powertrain will be a massive upgrade. Their 2.4/2.5 & auto/CVT combos are pretty terrible. Rough, loud, inefficient, slow, sloppy transmissions, high maintenance, etc.

I had a Highlander as a loaner a few years back. It was definitely in the running for the most sluggish powertrain I've ever experienced. That thing was dangerously slow with the 2.7 liter hauling two people. I couldn't even conceive of driving it with a full contingent of people.

Ok so you don’t want EV they have RAV4 and Grand Highlander and 4Runner, as well as Lexus models. You’ll be OK!

RAV4 was ruined well over a decade ago. Toyota needs to start coming up with new vehicle names instead of reusing and tarnishing the reputation of previous nameplates.
