I probably will be running a 30grade of some sort that said I have a stash of HPL 10w20 that may be used

Its going to be 115 degrees in May?
It will only be 100 up here on Monday. Warm weather is not at all unusual here in May, or eve April. However, the temps in March over did it a little.

Phoenix runs about 10 degrees warmer than us year round. If you really want warm you usually go to Bullhead City, Lake Havasu City or Yuma. However, Phoenix wins this time around.

Bummer.

June July August yes it will be and 105F this weekend

I see. Punctuation would have changed the sentence. You write like a programmer.

See spot.
See spot run.
See spot run fast.
See. Spot. Run. Fast.

Why is that a bummer? I live here because I like it here. People who don'[t like warm live in Flagstaff.

Any 0w-20 that meets the API SQ and ILSAC GF-7 spec. Personally, I’d choose Pennzoil Ultra Platinum for the GTL base and top shelf additive package.

Running Mobil 1 xW-40 in a 2007 Accord (0w-20 spec) down here in Tucson, FWIW.
Without an accurate oil temperature gauge, choosing an oil weight is all a bit hocus-pocus. But picking a thicker spec is not going to hurt anything at all.

Great choice. I think it's one of the best off the shelf oils available.

I don't know how ambient temp affects oil choice personally. I wouldn't factor it in.

I live in Yuma and I run Mobil 1 ESP 0w~20, in my Toyota RAV4 Hybrid. Mostly short trips but do drive to Phoenix every other month. I have thought of going to 5w~30 due to fuel delusion.
