2025 Ram Hurricane I-6 dipstick deletion

The Hurricane is shipping now for 2026 MY Ram.

That is five whole years.

Technically, the Dart was available new from 2012 thru the end of 2016. That’s five whole years too.

Ford ecoboost also can’t use dipstick for oil change verification. Vehicle must sit 10 minutes before using it, it’s supposedly in a separate cavity. Drain and fill be the numbers, and go.

They are in the business of cutting costs, and aren't going to give you both things.

My guess is that the oil pan sensor is cheaper / easier than plumbing and installing the dipstick tube.

It might be easier then installing a dipstick, but I question if it is cheaper, especially in the long run, like when the sensor breaks.

Thanks for all your input, Foreign and Domestic.
This is my first turbo vehicle. I don't want to have them run light on oil
at any time at all. I know, if you detect a leak, act on it! Absolutely!
I want to choose brand, do my own changes, measuring 7.5, no issue.
I already measure precise quantities for UTV, mowers.
Just another give / take, what's new.
Speaking of leaks, the other Ram is a 2012 Hemi, 207k, not a drop, ever!
We shall see how it all shakes out.

Engine oil level is relative...
When you want to check the level, drain it all out and add back the proper amount of oil.

A good way to know your engine oil level is low, when you around corners, the oil pressure light comes on, as the oil pickup in the oil pan gets uncovered.
