2025 Ram 1500 I6 Hurricane; PUP 0w-20

Hello to anyone looking for oil analysis info on the 2025+ Ram Hurricane. I have been doing oil changes myself with Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0w-20 with Mopar filters. After the first change, I have done analysis at 2000 miles and again at 4000 miles. Per the report, it appears the engine is liking this oil. I was mainly concerned about the 20 weight holding its viscosity which it appears to be doing so. As recommended, I plan on extending change interval to 6000 miles and repeating an analysis.

Was the BORON lowered by PENNZOIL ? The U.O.A.s' and the V.O.A.s' I've encountered are 150 > 170+ .

4000 miles oil change interval (~8000 miles total on the truck at the time)

I'm in the rockies and its a dream to drive at 80 mph over mountain passes. With the Warlock (cheap rebel) I get 16-18 mpgs

I'd go ESP from day one, if not FS 0W-40.

I would for sure if it were mine, I'd run 0W40 just like the HO version calls for. I'm waiting for that engine to find its way into the Wrangler, by then they should have it all dialed in. I6 Turbo what's not to like.

TFL truck got a low oil pressure alert towing a heavy trailer up a steep and windy mountain road in one of these. I think if I was towing I'd want to go at least Xw30, maybe Xw40. Just kicking around the suburbs, 0w20 is probably fine.

OP: how long will your next OCI be?

As promised, here’s the 6000 mile OCI with the Pennzoil Ultra Platinum 0W-20 in the SO SST. Daily driven highway and around town. All looks good so far. They recommend extending next OCI to 8000 miles.

Nothing less then ESP 0W30 or Edge 0W30.
Looking at that KV100 7.6cst and knowing how hot those turbos get. Yuck.
