Well well well, look what showed up:

My dealer ordered two of them, this one showed up first, my buddy has a red one coming for himself (he made the cut-off for the $5K Federal rebate) which should be here by the end of the month.

The sticker on these is a bit wild:

Made here in Ontario, so you do get an $8,500 provincial rebate.

First impressions:

- While the "engine sounds" speaker thing seems really gimmicky, I have to say, it's extremely well executed. It does actually sound like a gas Hellcat when you put it in "Track" mode. It has a number of different sound profiles, depending on the drive mode and of course you can turn it off completely if you desire.

- The interior is nice, though I'm not a fan of the lack of door handles (they pulled a Tesla). Has some major BMW and Mercedes vibes going on with the interior lighting and screen layout. Seats are comfortable, well bolstered, but not as nice as my SRT seats.

- The controls are well laid out; where you'd expect them to be in a Charger. I didn't know what I'd think of the squared-off wheel, but it's actually quite nice to use. The UConnect system is responsive and familiar for anybody who has driven an FCA/Stellantis product before. The gear selector feels right out of your typical gas car, so again, nothing weird there.

- The trunk is pretty small, as is the frunk. Which, I guess you kind of expect for this style of car, but does mean that it's probably not a practical alternative to say a Model 3. I found you really had to close the hood, which took a bit more effort than I expected.

- It drives well. I took it for a 10km or so drive and it doesn't feel as portly as it is. Power delivery is typical EV, drives a LOT like the BMW i4 M50, but without the torque steer that I experienced in that car, so that's a plus. Steering turn-in is FAST and takes some getting used to. Acceleration is of course blistering with 670HP on tap.

The SM is considering getting one as his commute is 1,500km/week, so he'd save almost $8,000 annually on gas just on his drive to work and back. A compelling case.

How did you find the throttle/braking tuning? Some reviews noted it was AWFUL.
They were great, it drives like a gas car, so it creeps when you let off the brakes, and the brakes feel like SRT brakes. I would assume you could adjust this so that it drives like a Tesla (1-pedal driving) but as shipped, it feels very familiar; feels like a gas car.
