2025 Corvette

Horsepower is useless if you don’t have traction.

Exactly....and hence why they moved to mid-engine. They did all they could do with the engine being in front. Throwing more power at that old front engine chassis configuration would not have netted better performance. Tadge has said that numerous times. The new ZR1 is a BEAST. I own a C6 Z51 and I love the C8's.

I see no advantages to the C7 from the C6, other than crashing into walls, and do not see any "better". IMO the C6 is the best out there overall.
I have to disagree with you there. I have had a C4, C5, C6 and now a C7 and the C7 was a MASSIVE step above the C6, just like the C5 was a massive step up from the C4. The C6 was basically a C5 1/2, they really didn't do anything radically different there, it was just a basic tweak, and not really an improvement in many areas either. The headlights are ugly, it's like a ten year old designed them, and the interior felt very cheap to me. I never really "connected" with my C6 in the 4 1/2 years that I had it. I LOVED my C5 a lot and looking back I think it would've been a better idea to have just skipped the C6 completely and kept my C5 a couple of years longer and then got into my C7 a couple of years earlier. Simply put, the C7 does EVERYTHING better than the C6. It looks better, rides better, handles better, brakes better, makes more power, gets better MPG, has way better headlights (both in how they look and how well they light up the road too) Simply put, it just feels like a more high end car, and the MSRP of a C7 didn't even go up that much compared to the C6, so it was a way better bang for the buck. And this might sound silly, but I love the fact that my C7 often gets mistaken for a Ferrari. I never got that with my C6. It just has more of an exotic look than the C6 did.

I really love the C8 a lot, but I will also never sell my C7, so I would need to fall into a pile of money before I would ever buy a C8, because I would need to be able to keep both of them.

Compelling edorsement of the C7 Corvette, Patman!

You clearly have more experience with the Vette than I do. But basic tweak? They went from the 5.7 non LS to a 6.2 and 7.0 LS for starters. Pretty big difference in power.

To each his own. I would say that if I could have one vetter from the showroom floor, it would be a 96 Grand Sport.

You are correct about the power difference but it was more pronounced with the Z06 models, going from 405 hp in the C5Z to 505 hp in the C6Z. In my case I went from a 98 base model to an 05 base model and the power difference there wasn’t quite as dramatic (345 to 400 hp) as that was a 5.7L LS1 to a 6.0L LS2. They did bump up the base model in 2008 with the 436 hp 6.2L LS3.

So I stand corrected here, when you take that into consideration the C6 did have a bit more power to offer than I initially said, but my other comments are still valid.

Yeah, I just realized, I skipped something. I was referring to the 5.7 in the C4 not the C5. Basically, I was comparing the the C4 power with the C6.........with that being said.......I agree with your initial statement and retract my previous statement.

Why?

Because like you said, the C5 and C6 are largely the same car..........mixed up my "C's" :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO: :ROFLMAO:

I'll never forget that dash design.

Its so goofy with cars like the Vette, GT40, etc. that always get priced out of any kind of market, then the manufacture says we had to discontinue building them because no one purchased them. Da not everyone has that kind of $ to do so.
And except for the fiberglass, its just as easy to build a nice looking car like mentioned as it is to build an ugly one that sells for much less.
So what is it? Do they just don't want most folks driving nice looking cars or what?
