2024 Tundra

I would do the absolute minimum and hope to blow it up before the powertrain warranty is up. Maybe by then they’ll have the engine updated to remedy the current issues they’re having.
this is the correct answer, the only thing you'll do by over servicing is push the failure out to after the warranty.

If it even makes it to the first oil change.

No, that post was not meant to be snarky. It has actually been happening. Not trying to instill fear into the OP, just laying out the facts. I really wanted a Tundra, but settled on the red headed smaller brother.

The factory warranty is 60K power train for the first 5 years. This truck will not be a workhorse. What sold me on it was the gas mileage compared to the 4 runner. Bigger vehicle, more power with about the same…possibly more mpgs. I’m happy. The APR was less and the payment is about the same.
What gas mileage? From all accounts it is 2-3mpg better than 5.7 V8. Even in hybrid Sequoia it is struggling to get 20mpg on hwy.

It calls for 0W20. Could I run 0W30 since it’2’
It calls for 0W20. Could I run 0W30 since it’s TT. Thanks.
im using 0w30 Amsoil SS in my 22 Tundra right now . But now with this recall it’s going back to dealership oil changes. If she blows she blows. I’ll probably trade it in if that happens and take my Chances with GM 6.2L that’s blowing up also or a F-150 with the Ecoturd or beast . Or many give the Ram 1500 with promising hurricane.

I’m seeing the new Tundras everywhere, I love the way those things look. The interiors look amazing! I’d consider buying one in a heartbeat.

I’m totally stoked about it.
Nice looking trucks. I think it has the same engine that's been used in Lexus or some of the other Toyota models for a long time so it's a very reliable engine ... Some issues I'm sure they'll figure out like with any newly designed cars.
