I would assume one day you will be able to tell by the weight of the vehicle. I noticed the ones with the max range have a lower tow rating. I assume that is because the battery packs are more heavy. At the 10:45 minute mark he mentions 200+ KW battery pack. Assuming he is correct maybe you can look it up in the specs somehow.

Im so excited about the GM lineup and after all my preaching I wish I just held my GM stock instead of short trading it. After 40 years of watching the stock, maybe this will be the decade Charle Brown (GM) kicks the football before Lucy takes it away.
I do love their trucks.

Turns out neither. The 2025 models got a number of upgrades from the 2024 used in that test.

That doesn't surprise me. The Hummer EV is 9200lbs and I'm sure they share most of their components.

Not to beat my usual dead horse, but I really think some consideration should be made to require additional licensing to drive something that heavy.

If you go to the Tesla website and click on their $97,000 cyber truck, go to the price and check the $9700 commercial truck savings

But Tesla is far, far, far worse with the cyber truck pricing.
The list price of $97,000 is based on the $5000 in fuel cost that you were going to save. The true true price is $102,000. But it’s not listed you have to actually uncheck $5000 in gasoline savings to see the true price.

The pricing model that Tesla has is worse than insulting to an educated individual and bottom of the barrel marketing

I'm just laughing at the naming they gave the savings as if everyone buys EVs of this cost.

As far as Tesla's site, the estimated gas savings is stupid. I get allowing the tax credit to show, that comes off with the purchase, but fuel cost is entirely irrelevant when the buyer may already have an EV, has an extremely fuel efficient car, and even with accurate data has nothing to do with the total cost due at the time of purchase or loan amount.

It is bad when you have to know what to check and uncheck to get the honest price. I know what to do to get it to tell me what my final cost is, but it really shouldn't have a learning curve. It's not in plain sight without clicking another menu first and if you're looking at inventory it reverts every time you click on a different car.

Sure. But better than dealership baloney. I never go to a dealership without a price in hand; even then there is some up-selling.
The 2 Model 3 purchases I made were sooooo simple.

I really don't think I could do the dealership thing again, at least not cold with a new sales guy. It's either going to be another Tesla, a brand that operates like Tesla for sales, or my VW guy. I just don't have the energy to deal with the long blown out process every other place I've bought a car from does. I know if I want a new VW I can email or call my sales guy, he'll shoot me numbers, and I can show up when the paperwork is ready. All I have to do is send him the stock number of the car I want I can see off the dealer website. Now if I could just click the buy button on the site like I do with Tesla.

Yeah, I have the deal in hand before stepping foot at the dealership. If they change the numbers, I walk. Luckily I have dealt with only one dealership for quite awhile and the sales manager gives me the deal. Actually pretty easy around here, because there are so many dealerships. Just play them off against each other.

Right, I just mean the way the Tesla site works in general. Given that the Cybertruck doesn’t get the tax credit makes it all the more ridiculous that it shows the fuel savings.

Agree, my own thoughts were getting mixed up between what I saw on the GM site. I thought one of them brought up the commercial vehicle tax break but, well, Like I say, I confuse myself sometimes
I guess I live in an alternate universe or I am simply poor compared to many in here. I just cant see paying for or taking $70k to 110K to buy a vehicle. So yeah, I agree, completely stupid to bring up gas prices ... as all of a sudden feeling poor man with these prices I could care less about the cost of gas were I live.
Maybe I am out to touch and old?

You and me both. I couldn't see paying $70k for a vehicle. I think I check out over $40k at this point.

I watched a YouTube video about why the wealthy drive Range Rovers. It's because vehicles over 7,000 pounds get tax cuts if used for business. What a dumb, easy to exploit loophole. I'm sure a lot of business owners buy Cybertrucks for the same reason.

Yeah the cutoff is actually 6,000lbs, but it’s why you’re seeing so many businesses start to use larger EVs. There’s no incentive to get stuff like that under 6k because of the business tax credit.

The Cybertruck advertises it right on the website and even has a checkbox to apply the savings directly to the purchase just like the standard EV tax credit.
