Factory fill was dumped at 800 miles. 10,800 miles total on the car when the oil was changed and sampled.

Thanks for the C&P. I also have a 2023 Mazda 3, but not the turbo. Bought car at 4,158 miles. Dealer loaner vehicle for a couple months, so no previous owner. Dealership changed the oil at 4,158 miles with whatever bulk 5W-20 (ironically, half the vehicles roll out of their lot with 0W-20 on oil cap, but their bulk is 5W-20. Doesn't matter, just thought it was funny....) I just hit 5K, but will go to 6K, change oil, then go to 10K. Plan to do a UOA at 10K, then go 5K OCI from there. Curious what the copper level will be. Hopefully next to nothing.

do you drive a lot of highway miles? Fuel dilution is lower than expected, which is a good thing.

Did you have to add any make-up oil along the way?

Most likely they get a better price on the 5w20 than the 0w20. The thing is, many 0w20's use a higher base stock and is oftentimes slightly higher in the HTHS range, as well as perhaps having a better performing additive pack. And yet, there aren't a lot of failed engines due to this practice!

Yes, daily commute is about 70% highway. I too was surprised how low the fuel dilution was.

I think I may have added half a quart. It seems the owner's manual is a little light in its capacity recommendation.
