2023 Lexus RX revealed

Yeah I mean I like touch screens to an extent and all the apps and junk but I do not like having every single feature confined to the screen and menus and submenus.

Sacrificing functionality for increased profits is anti-consumer and sacrificing functionality for a e s t h e t i c s is stupid
One thousand percent

I'm liking it too; its a midsize crossover on the inside while they cut its proportions to the compact size on the outside;

Great move by Lexus I'd say

Terrible.

I’m not a FWD/crossover guy, but I used to think the RX was the best looking crossover out there.

Lexus styling historically has been very “Japanese”, which I like. Sharp, origami-like angles.

Seems like they’re making the styling of this more generic. I don’t like it.

Give me all the physical buttons you can. I find the capacitive touch controls on my refrigerator infuriating to use while standing in place. A cluttered array of physical buttons is still easier to navigate while driving than certain capacitive touch controls. The 2022 GTI has proven this. And don't get me started on the fingerprints left on the gloss black touch surfaces...

we bought an rx in 21 knowing the new model was coming out in a year are two. assumed they would mildly change the out side and update the infotainment. its about what we expected, I do like the fact that we have last na v6. that will help resell down the road.

No more V6.
RX350 is now a 2.4L turbo
possible Plug-in.
and planned RX500h F-sport performance with the hybrid system with the 2.4L turbo

Bought this beauty a month ago. It's a 2020 with 12k miles on it.

we have that exact model color and all, great road trip cruiser. doing 85mph for hours it feels like you're sitting in your recliner.

sharp origami angles isn't a traditional Lexus styling thing. Yes, the current RX, UX, and previous NX have had it, and to a certain degree, the 2nd Gen LS400 had some pronounced edges to it, but it's been mostly safe soft conservative lines, minus the spindle grille when they first introduced it.

Likes the NX, the new RX took the same basic shape and refined/softened the lines a bit.

Don’t forget the IS.

Functional. All those buttons are functional in today's tech world.

Buttons are good.
Much easier to push a steering wheel button and say, "Set the temp to 70". Or "I'm cold." Or "My butt is hot." Or "Play KGO radio."

Here's a few:
"Open browser/phone/camera/lock settings..."
"Search Google for the weather..."
"Go to tesla.com..."

"Activate sentry mode"
"Increase screen brightness"
"Turn on windshield wipers/increase wiper speed"
"Fold/unfold side mirrors"
"Open charge port" or "Open butthole."
"Lock doors"

"Set the temperature/fan..."
"Turn on the air conditioning/dog mode/camp mode..."
"Make it warmer"
"Set the driver’s seat warmer to..."
"Decrease fan speed..."
"I’m cold"
"Turn on recirculate"

"Go home/to work/to the airport..."
"Navigate to 45500 Fremont Blvd..."
"Take me to the school/the park..."
"Zoom in"
"Turn on satellite mode/traffic..."
"Display Superchargers/Destination Chargers..."
"Stop navigation"
"Mute voice guidance"

"Call home/Franz/Syd…"
"Text message David"

I have no desire to talk to my car.

None.

Doesn't Mercedes have an interior AI that can do most of that stuff. I think it's on their recently released cars only.

Some observations. I actually like it. For years everyone has commented on the big one mouth looking grill on Lexus cars. Now that they diminished that look some I’m surprised by the comments.

The hood is a bit longer which seems to be the current styling lately. Along with the new design headlight assembly I think they did well to keep a somewhat muscular look up front.

Open butthole....that's an interesting command.

My point is, tech is what sets Tesla apart from other cars, regardless of drivetrain. Our 2 Lexi are great cars, don't get me wrong. Having said that, after driving the Tesla, I find the Lexus buttons perhaps confusing and have to somewhat search for what I want.
Voice commands are easier, faster and safer than buttons.

Certainly the tech is not for everyone; each to their own.
