Merry Christmas Eve,

I wanted to get a placeholder out there for our 2023 Open House. We learned a lot from the first open house and hope to make this one even better.

This year the NHRA returns to Joliet IL for a national event. The date range for this show is May 19-21. I have already spoken with Elite Motorsports and they have indicated they will graciously allow us a behind the ropes experience at the race track. Erica Enders is the current NHRA Pro Stock champion and together with the rest of the teams at Elite we will get a chance to see a lot. I would expect discussion with both Erica and Richard Freeman who owns the team. This may be at the plant or maybe at the track.

This past year we dove deep into technical discussions and not so much on the social side. The feedback we received was less technical and more social might be a better balance. We will listen. I’m always up for answering questions or discussion however.

As things come together we will get the details together and once again look forward to welcoming the BITOG family to our plant.

David Ward

This is super cool.

You guys seem to have a fantastic sponsorship program going. I was especially impressed to see that you guys are linked with PettyGMS.

Thank you. What differentiates us from the norm is the limit of our sponsorship is products. We are not large enough to be writing checks to these teams. Each one of our relationships are 100% results oriented. We did have someone from Petty/GMS at the open house last year. He was certainly interesting to listen to and pretty forthright with knowledge of the team. I will certainly extend an invitation for them as well.

Does PettyGMS use an off the shelf product that you already make, or are there custom blends just for them?

Actually both. And we are currently working on things for the upcoming season that time would not allow during the season. They are first class people and we really enjoy helping them.

Edit: A few weeks ago the guy who takes care of the fleet vehicles and haulers there called. They were changing the oils in the haulers to our oils. He said “you sent the cup oil for the rear ends of the semi’s. Is this a mistake?” The answer is no. The same oil for the cup cars will run a very long time in the semis.

That was a great part of the program and one of the most interesting for me. Listening to (Bob, was it) speak privately to some of the panel members and others after the formal discussion was most interesting. I'm not sure if I learned more from the presentation or by "eavesdropping."

A little less than a week before the August Open House my father in law passed away. Having small children at home, and given the situation, I couldn't make it. It was a difficult time.

I regretted not being able to attend and meet Mr. Ward (@High Performance Lubricants), Mr. Wilson (@wwillson), and many others who I talk to here almost daily, in person. Oh, and @Astro14, who occasionally likes to remind me to back off when I get into an argument with one of the more established members here, lol. By the way, @cheesepuffs2, awesome guy, we chatted in private.

There's a world of difference between what I call written-delayed-communication that at times can be misunderstood, and meeting in person. I drawn to both the technical aspect and the social aspect of the Open House.

Merry Christmas everyone and I hope to get to meet many of you in or around May of 2023! Let's hope that next year will be better for everyone!

I've marked the calendar. The first Open House was fun and educational. I have no doubts that this one will even better.

Elite Motorsports is a top notch organization. I've had the pleasure of accompanying them twice at national events. They're a welcoming bunch who like to have a good time.

I had some good discussions with Bob when we were up there. He's a good guy, and was impressed with the kid who was asking him some indepth NASCAR questions.

Here's some pictures from when I was with Elite last year.
