I’ve search for the particular K series engine that’s in them. I’ve found nothing that identifies it. I’ve search long and hard. Best I can find it’s based off the Civic line. Was wanting to find info break down of the engine. Just nothing that out right identifies it. Other than a 2.0 n/a . Anyone find better info on the series. Ty Wardawg

Wikipedia says it has the K20Z5
I did find that. And thanks for the rep!y. I tracked a vin number all the way and it came back with the build info and listed k20z5 . But I searched k20z5 and the info was a dead end. I'll search again. The big question is I have found this engine listed multiport fuel injection . On Honda news site . But I also seen it quoted to be direct injection . Maybe multiport was a typo . Cheers WarDawg

I think you can trust Honda's news site. It's a multiport fuel-injected engine. Honda has never produced a naturally aspirated K-series 2.0-L motor with direct injection. (The 2.0-L engine in the hybrids is not a K-series.)

The car magazine web sites are littered with mistakes these days. Car and Driver, for instance, insists that the HR-V has a direct-injected engine. C'est la vie, I suppose.

2023 HRV has the 2.0 Port Injected engine, not DI

just open the hood, if there the label EarthDreams on the engine cover that means it is a DI engine; if its nowhere to be found under the hood then it is the port injected engine or old school engine

K20C2 is port injected , but the valve cover has an "Earth Dreams" sticker on it.

I have this from 2022 HRV your picture is from a Civic, so who knows

however i'm thinking they had a back log of older engines on hand and due to supply parts shortages in the past few years so they used
PI engines a new HRV

Im 99% certain it's the same engine as in the new civic.

Here is a superb presentation based on the civic that outlines this new engine which has an impressive 41% thermal efficiency.

It consumes and emits less than hondas 1.0 liter turbo
Makes more HP than the 1.5 turbo
in the EHEV form the system makes more torque than honda 1.6L diesel.

This is a highly engineered impressive product.

The Honda HrV commonly known as the Venzel in most places has a unique configuration for North America. It does have the K20Z5 motor which is also a North America exclusive it seems.

It’s a practical looking crossover. The CRV gets all the attention here but this HRV is worth a look as well.

Excellent presentation; thanks for posting it. However, the engine cited in this presentation, which is present in all of the new Honda hybrids, is a newer long-stroke design and unrelated to the older, perfectly square (86 mm x 86 mm bore and stroke) K-series engine present in the 2023 HR-V and 2023 Civic.
