I did. I’m not smart enough to figure out how to photograph it but it was about the same.Put some pressure on the spring and test again.
This leaf spring must have some warp to it. Got a photo of the impression left by the leaf spring in the fiber end cap?

Does it sit flat regardless of the rotational position of the leaf spring on the end cap? If the leaf spring is not put back in the same exact rotational orientation as it was before the filter was cut open, then it may show a leak gap. The fiber end cap depressed more on the ends where the ears are on the leaf spring.That’s with a little graphite and spinning it 360 degrees. The spring appears flat. Running a straight edge across fiber, it’s flat. It’s the opposite of what it appears, the circled area has a deeper indentation.
