2022 GM L87 6.2L Engine Teardown

I was able to get 27mpg out of my dad's 2016 Corvette with the 7 speed manual. Absolutely nutty for a 465HP V8, and the **** thing is still using pushrods and a single cam.
I can't get more than 16 on the highway, 12 in town, and 5 on the track. đŸ˜©

Yea, anecdotally it’s heard of to get low 20s in a GM truck with the LSx/LTx engines crusing down the freeway. While the Toyota guys are whining about the 3UR-FE in their Tundras barely leaving the teens.

Which leads me to this - Toyota is having the same issues with the V35A-FTS 3.5L V6 on the current Tundra. But yet, a double standard - except for the Car Care Nut and maybe YouTube/IG influencers bringing it up, anytime Toyota does something wrong, it’s a free pass, Toyota can’t do wrong in the media. But, Ford/GM/Mopar messes up, ‘sic the dogs.

There is a long discussion about Toyota's "bulletproof" reputation over on the 5th gen RAM forums. Toyota is the automatic go-to for a mid-size truck, but the reality is they are just as bad (if not worse) than all the others.

Ive kinda given up on brand loyalty. They are all going to have issues. They are all going to try and hit a price point nowadays. Really just comes down to who will take care of the issues the best, and even that is a crapshoot. It sounds crazy but we might be at the point of buying from whatever brand has a dealer that we think will be the least bad.

My RAM experience has been pretty decent, so if it ever comes down to it Id look for another one. But fully understanding a crappy dealer could sour that experience at any time, Id expect to look at other brands, too. Some people still ask me why I didn't automatically buy a Ford or GM. Seems like some people dont understand "I liked the RAM better and don't really care about what other people automatically buy"
