I have a 2022 Ford Transit Connect for my business. It's loaded down and gets used to produce revenue so thought I'd change the spark plugs at 50k as I really like to keep the fleet vehicles maintained well.

I do 5k OCI, run Stabil 360 in every tank. Every 5k I also dump a can of Berrymans B12. I wasn't expecting what I removed though. The manual clearly states .033" - .037" plug gap; however, when I remove plugs I always check to see if that gap has changed. These plugs were ALL at .050".

I did purchase new plugs from the dealer (I have so many Ford Pass Points) to install. I put them at the recommended gap and all seems fine.

So my question is; do these engines eat plugs? Ford changed the spec? And while my first thought was there was coolant, it's at the perfect level so that's not it for the terrible read of the plug.

Yeah. Concur with heavy additives. I’m not sure stabil is the right move for this use case. If you want to experiment, amsoil makes a nice fuel conditioner. Check them out.

Those might be the worst spark plugs I've ever seem from such a low-mileage new car :poop:

Why do you use stabil 360 in every tank?

Stop using the Stabil 360!
I've run Marine 360 in every tank of my all my powersports engines and have NEVER had this happen before. Fast forward, I got a bad tank of gas with water and since then I've just made it a habit to do it on every fill up. As mentioned, I've done this on everything and have never seen a plug look like this so didn't think it was an issue.
