A friend of mine closed a deal on a 40k miles jeep grand Cherokee and other than the roller rockers and oil cooler going bad is there any other known issues to prevent? Not interested in joining a Mopar / jeep forum at this time.

my moms 22’ model has the leather dash cover peeling off already. has ~30k miles on it.

For the Pentastar, you've got the two major issues listed there. @wwillson has had great service from his Durango (same platform, same engine) as have many others. The Pentastar isn't a powerhouse, but it gets good mileage, is easy on oil and generally quite durable.

I've owned 3x WK2 GC's, a 2016 and 2x 2020's (2nd 2020 I traded my e-tron in on, both were factory orders). All three of mine have had extended leather, including the leather dash, no issues with it on any of them. Though the '16 had the white stitching, which reflected in the windshield. The '16 was traded in 2019 due to not being right after a collision and a poor repair job by the shop that did the body work, otherwise I'd still own it.

My current 2020 had a capacitor on the back of the cylinder head short out and damage the harness resulting in the whole harness being replaced, but this is not a known issue (mine is the only case) and would only apply to a HEMI-equipped model, which the one you are describing I assume isn't, since you mentioned rockers and the oil cooler, neither of which are problems with the HEMI.
