Just an update, had my 8 speed serviced by a local reputable transmissionmission shop. Opted for a complete fluid exchange, BG315 was the fluid that went back in. Transmission shifts excellent, hot or cold. We have had some -30 days since the service, super happy.

Will update as time goes by.

Looking that fluid up it shows as a low viscosity formula compatible with the ZF8 as well as many other transmissions. So basically like a Valvoline Maxlife multi vehicle fluid - it should work just fine for you.

its crazy that they tell you not to service these things. I got my transmission serviced recently and it is noticeably smoother after.

I’ve had the ATF and filter changed every 60,000 on any vehicle with an ATF. The transmission is functioning fine at 200,000+ miles in my 2014 JKU
