I just watched the Motorweek piece on the new 2021 CT4 V-series, and although I'm nowhere near "in the market", it was refreshing to see a Cadillac that could actually perform AND not be the top of the line insanity that was the CTS-V.

For the price that a 300 horse Seville STS would have cost you in 2004, you can get a very nicely optioned CT4 V-series, featuring a 325hp, 380 lb/ft 2.7 4-cyl backed by a 10-speed auto and a limited slip diff. Yes, it's RWD. Oh, and it weighs 380 pounds LESS than said STS. Lest we forget, these figures all come at a time when in-car technology and crash test requirements are at an all time high. To think, my 2003 STS was considered loaded at the time, what with having touch screen navigation and magnetic ride suspension. Now, you've got Magneride Gen. 4 and build quality that makes the 2003 look like a 10 year old Hyundai Optima.

Oh, how far technology has come in 17 years...

(shameless confession, I have always had a soft spot for Cadillac's)

I have a soft spot for Cadillac's as well (even though my 2005 STS was far from reliable). I really do want to see them succeed, and this model does sound promising. The stuff they've been saying about being all electric by 2030 doesn't give me much hope though.
