The Manufacturer "Honda" recommends oil changes every 7500 miles or 1 year whichever occurs first.
Not sure, but this interval is recommended so that the engine will last the life of the care.
The life of a car for a dealer is 150K or 200K miles ... who knows.
Just bought it as a used car from a lease with 22,000 miles. I want this engine to last.
What's the non-dealer, non-manufacturer, best interval to change oil on a car like this?

There is no "one answer fits all". Lots of factors, including whether it's driven mainly highway, city, or a mix. What weather is it primarily driven in. Does it idle a lot? A used oil analysis could help answer the question. I'd recommend do a 5000 mile oil change interval and an oil analysis. Report back and we can go from there.

Most modern Honda's will trigger the maintenance minder oil change message at just short of 10,000 miles, not, 7500.

Those engines dilute the oil with fuel, so consider an earlier change interval. Some use 5W-30 instead of 0W-20 also. The thicker oil is recommended in many countries that don't put pressure on manufacturers to squeeze out every possible mpg.

Where did you read this ? At least in the US and I think, Canada, Honda says to follow the MM, not a fixed mileage.
The one year part is accurate, but that is built into the MM. It will hit zero percent after 12 months regardless of mileage. It may hit zero percent earlier depending on mileage, driving style, etc. determined by MM algorithm. But for sure, it will calibrate itself to hit zero at 12 months if other factors in the algorithm say the oil is still "good".

I don't believe the 2.0T has that issue. The 1.5T does have that issue though.

Agreed
There are threads here where people have stated that the 2.0T also dilutes the oil with fuel. I don't have personal experience with that, but it was made clear in those threads.
