2019 is the the Bladerunner Year

For you Science Fiction fans, the 1982 original Bladerunner movie was set in 2019. Here we are.

Here we are. Let's see. No constant rain. That's good. No floating technology cars. That would have been cool. No Human created life mimicking us. I think that is a good thing. We have enough prejudice to go around. Don't need that. All in all I think we dodged the dark world of Bladerunner. Happy New Year everyone.

One thing they missed the boat on was cell phones. Back to the Future also missed on that.

One thing most here might not know that I found when reading about the Blade Runner timeline is that it's actually in the same Universe as the Alien series, which is set a few centuries ahead...

Does anyone remember when Deckard called Rachael on the public video phone outside the bar? That technology has been here for a while - at least on our cell phones. Like the rest of you, though, I'm glad most of the other things depicted in the movie have not happened.
