2017 Mazda CX-5 Battery

Our 2014 CX-5 battery died a couple years ago and I replaced it with an East Penn Duracell from Sams Club. Still going strong. It sits a lot too. Has 20K miles and is 10 years old now.

It would've been interesting to see the new vs. failure test results from a battery tester....especially the resistance value.

I suspect using a battery tender regularly would likely extend life...by how much is anyone's guess. I would try to figure out a convenient way to connect your Battery Minder up when the car not going to be driven for more than a few days. I have all my cars and motorcycle that are not daily driven connected up to battery tenders. Even my daily driver I have a convenient way to connect it up if I want, using a cigarette lighter adapter (socket is always "on").
Keeping lead acid batteries charged up vs letting them drain down regularly can make a huge difference in lifespan.. potentially years. And when you have multiple batteries (like 9 lol) the savings can be pretty substantial.

The extra effort is well worth it in my experience 😉
