I have a broken front coil spring on my 2016 Volvo xc60 & I need the variation code to order the proper set.
Anyone know where to find this information other than a dealer.
Thanks

what are those sticker labels normally found wrapped around one of the coils.

A Volvo spring variation code is an internal factory code that specifies the exact spring rate, length, and diameter for your vehicle’s suspension. It ensures your replacement springs match your car's exact equipment, weight capacity, and trim package (e.g., standard vs. sport suspension, FWD vs. AWD). [1, 2]

How to Find Your Spring Code
  • Check the Build Plate: Locate the factory VIN plate on your car (often in the engine bay or the passenger-side door jamb). Look for a string of alphanumeric characters representing your suspension/spring variant codes.
  • Decode the Line: Your front and rear spring codes are typically listed alongside other chassis and weight distribution codes (e.g., "For cars marked 43" or variant codes like 7702, 7803).
  • Contact a Dealer: If you cannot read the build plate, contact your local dealership's parts department and provide your Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) so they can look up the exact factory spring assigned to your chassis. [1, 2]

Ordering Replacement Springs
Always use your specific spring variation code when ordering suspension parts to avoid mismatched ride heights or handling issues. [1]
  • To look up exact OEM parts using your VIN and variant codes, you can search or order via the Official Volvo Cars Parts Store.
  • If you are purchasing aftermarket OEM-equivalents (like Lesjfors or IPD), be sure to provide the spring variant code to ensure correct fitment. [1, 2]

I’ll answer my own question!!
FCP foreign car parts has access to variation codes to ensure proper fit/function.
Generally there is a variety of vendors & Price ranges.
Parts are oem or oem aftermarket and guaranteed for life.
Doesn’t get much better than that.
