2016 Volvo S90; wrong transmission oil?

I have text the garage. He said that when he rang the suppliers to order the fluid the numbers he gave them didn't mean anything to them. These were the numbers I gave him specifically stating it needed JWS 3324 not 3309 which is an older fluid.

He was assured by the supplier that it was the correct oil (auto trans D iii). And that he got them to check their databases. He said it is spec MB 236.9, ZFTE - ML09, 11b, 14b.

I have since rang the supplier myself and given them my reg and they are also telling me it's auto trans D iii (dexron 3).

I have text the garage explaining that he has been supplied the wrong oil and needs changing. Explaining that it is a dexron 3 oil for cars pre 2005 and that is requires AW1 3324 which is a lower viscosity fluid.

What a ball ache! No one knows what they're doing.

I've only text the garage as he's on holiday, but will expect him to rectify the problem. I have said that I am happy to provide the oil

The KV40 and KV100 of the NAPA fluid and of the 3324 are for all intents and purposes identical. My only concern would be any difference in the additive packs. Y'all know what I'm about to say: "use the OEM or at least one that is equivalent".

I thought they were, but I'm not so sure they are now.

Napa lists it as being pretty much same viscosity, but dexron 3 (which is basically what it is) is a higher viscosity fluid.

Very confused
