Hello,
I have a 2016 Mazda 3 2.0L and I notice that when I put the car in reverse with the brakes pressed I hear a weird noise before I release the brakes. Same happens when I back up, switch to drive. Is this a normal noise to hear?

Video of the sound:

The first step in diagnosing a problem is to scan the various modules in the car.

I think I hear something resembling an actuator noise after you shift. Does it do it without brakes being applied or with only the parking brake applied?

Does it have an electric parking brake and is there an option to get it applied automatically? If so, that could be the sound, the parking brake being applied.

is it like a clattering noise? i cant hear much in your video

on my friends mazda3 the serpentine belt tensioner bit the dust, so at idle the engine vibrations would make the belt jump around. only at idle, in gear. once you started moving or at higher rpm it wouldn't do it anymore
