I'm beginning to think that engines with a timing belt will always have better UOAs (with respect to iron ) than those with chains. Nice report.
I like using M1 AFE 0w30 in a 5w20-spec engine. It might be possible to get the insolubles down to 0.1 with a Fram Ultra, XG3614, which gets out 80% at 5 microns, none better.

The reports I have with 0.1 mic were from of course...a Fram Ultra!

Yep, the timing belt running in oil doesn't seem to have any negative effects on the oil at all.

Me too! The 1.0 EB is spec'd out for 5W20 but because of the inherent dilution and thinning, it seems to work out very well. The only gripe I have seems to be a slight hit in fuel economy

Yes, I will even go to the fairly thick (3.5 HTHSV) 5W-30 Ravenol REP in the summer for my 1.6 EB, since I use a skid plate on my ST, and am worried about high under hood temps, with a somewhat inadequate factory radiator (will eventually get a Mountune or Pro Alloy aftermarket one), thinning out a 0W-20, or 5W-20, on top of the DI fuel dilution.

There are some members on the Fiesta ST Forums (who live in warm/hot climates), who use Castrol 0W-40, or M1 0W-40 all of the time.
