Alpha platform Buick with a Grand National package just like the Regal used to offer... This would be the car to have.

With the new Opel Insignia coming out which will spawn a new Regal and wagon variant (old OPC below). There is lots of excitement for Buick.

Makes me think of a mitsubishi eclipse or a Nissan Z car, but overall does better than both and looks pretty great. The rear is the worst part, IMO, and not bad.

Bummer they wont make it.

Then again, it probably would be AT only and have some silly engine setup...

And why wouldnt I shop an ATS-V or something?

Now that in a buick form with a little diesel engine could be huge.

So what was the point of making it?

GM is well known for this type of concept cars.

If nobody likes it they will make it, if most consumers like it they will shell it.

Wrong target market. They have the Lacrosse and Enclave for that. This is aimed a bit younger. That way the responsible 30-somethings on their way up with 1.7 kids have a nice car to park in the lot at work without being ostentatious like their co-worker who leased a CLA250/320i/A3.

In addition, Buick's average purchaser age is no longer "grandma and grandpa" having attracted more younger buyers each year.

"According to data from Buick, the brand's average buyer age has dropped from 60 to 59 years old in the past five years, while brand loyalty — buyers who come back for another Buick — has increased from 21 to 29 percent. That is certainly progress, but Buick's average age is almost eight years greater than the industry median age, which is close to 52 years old, according to IHS."

Only Lincoln has a higher average age at 61
