Hi all,
I recently had my F150 lose power while driving, and then when I restarted it, it was making really loud noises and running very rough. I limped it home about 2 miles.
I left the vehicle parked, and ran my code reader. I had several codes, timing and misfire related
P0012
P0017
P0302
P052B
I took off the intake plenum, and both valve covers. I found quite a bit of sludge on the VCT oil control solenoids (previous owner). I replaced the solenoids, and I notice excessive metal shavings on the filter screens on the outside solenoids.
I buttoned everything back up, performed an oil change, and cleared the codes. After all this, the engine ran better, but there is still some loud noise and the new codes are Timing, pressure, and temperature related
P0012
P052B
P0108
P0113
I am attaching some photos, but I can’t figure out how to attach a video.
I have a timing kit, water pump, oil pickup tube, and new Melling oil pump ready to go. And advice/recommendations/experience greatly appreciated.
