I like the older Corvettes,the 69-82. I like the curvy bodystyle. The black/silver Pace Cars were my favorites.

So they took design elements from the Camaro (tail end and center console) and slapped it on another car...again. It looks like they lifted the front end and the sides from a Ferrari.

It's a "Factory Five Racing" GTM supercar. It's a very high end kit car, that uses a Corvette as a donor car (engine suspension, wiring, brakes, etc) but uses a Porsche transaxle and has a mid-rear engine configuration.
When I first saw one driving down the highway, I was in love! It's really low, and really wide. And, it looks great in person.
They are very lightweight, and so, even with a stock LS1 engine, they are supercar fast.
How's this for an engine bay!!

I watched the live reveal, they really stretched it out....tried to build suspense, then they revealed it, so anticlimactic. If this was anything other than a "vette" I'd like it, the problem for me is it doesn't look like a "vette" and the back end is pretty horrible. It's like they tried to do too much at once, it just doesn't look like a vette anymore. I had a C6 and the interior was so plastic it was horrible, you could hear how plastic it was over every little bump in the road so hopefully they used some different materials this time around... still probably the best bang/buck sports car out there though.
It no doubt will be a great performer but the body just does not make me want one.

But I care more how it PERFORMS for it's given price point, and whether or not they will release a Z07/ZR1 supercar version.
It's funny how all of the ctitics of it's looks on here would probably think it's the hottest thing on four wheels IF it wore a charging bull, bucking pony, 3 pointed star, Teutonic shield, or big L badge, instead of a "too large" bowtie.
Overall, I personally think it looks VERY 'exotic', despite the vociferously criticized, '5th gen' f body rear end.

Those, along with certain Nobles, and Moslers, are my fave kit cars!
But I would put a built/worked LS7, or C5R blocked powerplant in mine, and then go Veyron hunting!

They seem to be gunning for Ferrari, like a 599 or a 612 its not a pretty car, its a wind tunnel car.
Which for the top speeds the higher HP models will probably go is necessary.
This is the first Corvette that has interested me. I'd want the version with the carbon brakes and lots of black CF.

It also looks too *plasticy* and WAY too gimmicky.
Its carbon fiber, and those design cues are from the wind tunnel. Pretty cars don't really work aerodynamically.
I'd say most 200mph cars these days don't really look that great. Handsome maybe, but drop dead Jag XKE pretty? Nope.
Problem is pretty cars like the Miura for example start to fly over 150mph.

I'm pretty sure all the people in this thread complaining about how it looks and the back want all cars to look like this. And people who say that "Cars today all look the same" Well, so did cars back then because they all looked very similar to this.

Somebody on BITOG probably still owns, daily drives, and LOVES their stylish Oldsmobile. They keep it around because all the new cars have too much content that will break in 5 years, costing thousands of dollars to repair, and the intake valves will be all carbon'd up from DI before the second oil change.

I really like the styling of the new Vette, much improvement over the rather bland C6. I like the Z06 and ZR1 C6, but the stock model was a little boring. I think the rear end style is not bad, but it is definetly the weakest area.
It looks like it should be a fantastic performer. I am excited to see the first tests.

Don't like the back. Looks rather ugly....similar in flavor to the ugly Camaro back end. Front end not bad....sides a bit busy with angles and lines. A tad harsh on the eyes. I don't know, but certainly not a beautiful car.
