I was given the opportunity to work on this car with a local detailer. All of the pictures are in the link below.
From this experience, I learned a couple things:
- I still have a lot of work to do before I can start doing full corrections. From this experience, I truly learned the definition of “perfect paint” and what the expectations are.
- The Rupes 21 is very challenging to master on curved panels. Working this machine on curves requires a lot of practice and patience.
- When you need more cut from a finishing polish, step up to a Meguiar’s MicroFiber finishing disc. However, the finishing disc may not finish perfectly on darker colors.
- When you are charging a client for a paint correction, you need to polish every square inch of the car – that means pillars, mirrors, tail lights, exhaust tips and more!
