2013 Ford Edge Limited

Is there something special you have to do before jump starting or jumping someone else on a 2013 Ford Edge? I ask because my mother in law tried to jump someone with hers today and it blew some fuse block out that has to be ordered to fix it. Anyone ran into this problem?

I don't understand fully the question. Did mother in law try to jump start a Ford Edge? Nothing special; just black on black and red on red

She probably left her vehicle running while starting the dead vehicle.

No, there is not a special procedure. An error was made in the jumpstarting process.

That usually happens when you connect the wrong wires. Probably did black to red and red to black. That basically doubles the voltage and blows the fuses. Which is what it sounds like happened.

She has a Ford Edge. She tried to help someone today and give them a jump and blew a fuse block or something. It has to be ordered. She had to leave her Edge there. I wasnt there. Not sure what happened.
