Bought a new 2013 Buick Enclave, when do people think think I should do first oil change. I usually do it at 3000 miles or 50% of OLM life. Dexos I is at least semi-synthetic. I plan to use Penzoil Platinum 5w30 and use factory OLM for later changes.

Sounds good. PP is a great choice for GM engines. Read about Enclave's recently, highly regarded as one of the best SUV's on the market with an eye popping price tag.

Do you have any pics?

Do it at 15% or whatever GM wants you to do the oil changes at.

The only GM OLM I have experience with never gave you the percentage, just a "change oil" light when it was time. (2000 Grand Am)

Does GM put any special break-in additives to their factory fill?

Just use the factory OLM for the first oil change and you should be fine. How many miles are on it now? Maybe you can wait until it's nice out to do the oil change

Both my 1998 Corvette and my new Enclave give me a percentage oil life remaining. My Enclave has 99% left with about 200 miles on it. I have never heard about GM using any additives in their factory fill, like Honda supposedly does. Since I have a garage, weather isn't much of a factor in oil changes.

No pictures yet, it is Champagne Silver (light tan) with Cocoa (dark brown) leather interior. It has 19 inch tires and wheels. Rides and handles well, as well as being quiet.

I agree with your plan....I still like doing the first oil change early to get rid of any break-in debris.
I also agree that QSUD is as good a choice as PP but now that PP is down to $22.47 for the 5 qt. jug (vs. $20.97 for QSUD) the price differnce isn't much of a consideration.
