I am currently at 6000 Mi now and most of my driving is highway with some city. The car is great, but the shift from 1 to 2 is the pretty notchy even when it warms up. I am not alone in this complaint due to many threads on forteforums.com about it. Their fix is either Redline MT85, AMSOIL MTG 75w90 GL4, or AC delco 12346190(Castrol Syntorq). Since many people own kias on this forum I was wondering which fluid remedied the notchiness.

+1. I'd advocate for the amsoil myself, because it maintains shift feel and quality better in my BMW than redline did.

and I could toss a vote for redline that I've had good luck with.. but I have no personal experience with a 2012 kia forte 2.0 6mt
in the end it might be better just to try a few. they dont cost that much..
drain fill.. run for 2-3000 miles... try again if you dont like it.

But add the Ford 75-90 manual transmission fluid to your list.
It is superb.

I am using mt-85 in my 2011 hyundai accent 5-speed. It did help the notch type shifting some. Not perfect, but much better.
Mechtech how much longer do you think I should give it before I change trans fluid.

I'd change out your transmission fluid now, for a bunch of reasons.
It has no filter, and most of the wear particles happen initially. You are having shift issues, and a different fluid can certainly help.
I am not selling anything, but really look into that superb Ford fluid.
Maybe your specific new trans is not mentioned, but see what others say about it. Throw out the top and bottom few reports, and concentrate on the middle 95%.
