2011 Silverado No dexos?

I just got a 2011 Silverado, and the owners manual makes no mention of dexos in the maintenance/service section. It still says to use 5w30 oil meeting GM6094M specs. I thought dexos was going to be for all GMs starting with 2011 MY.

They probally just printed the manual before all this Dexos mess came to happen.

I'd do exactly what the owner's manual states. If it says 6094M, then use an oil with a minimum spec of 6094M.

If there's any discrepancy down the road, you did exactly what the manual said to do. Period, end of story.

I was wondering if the GM truck V8 would required Dexos yet or not. I assumed the DI engines were the big reason for Dexos, but no new engines for GM trucks yet.

It's clearly stated in my wife's 2011 Nox in the manual and oil cap.

Updates and retroactive specs probably will occur.
If not, you will enjoy long life anyway.

Nothing on the oil cap either. I'm not concerned about any potential warranty issues, I just found it curious. I planned on using Pennzoil Platinum 5w30 anyway.
