2011 Silverado change oil or not?

Two services at the dealer before I bought it so I I know its had at least two oil changes and it has 7,700 miles on it now. I check the oil regularly and it looks very clean (I know you can't judge it just by looks).

Since you live on the dry side of WA you should be able to stretch out your oci some. That depends on your driving habits, whether this truck is getting worked hauling or towing or just headed down to the store etc.

If your area is dusty then I would go with 5k.

If you can prove that the dealer put synthetic oil in the engine, there's a quality oil filter installed, and you're taking it up to full temperature on a regular basis, I say run it.

If there is any question, change it out with known materials and then run it.

How about a "didn't blew up" story:

Not recommending this but one of my cars doesn't get much use ~1200 miles per year or less for getting bark, going to dump, etc.
I change the oil every 3 years with conventional chevron supreme and the car has over 370K miles and runs great! I'm the original owner.

For a rarely driven new(er) car, I would rather not to exceed 2 years time frame but that's just a "I spent a lot of money on it and why risk it" kind of feeling ...

This seems like a silly question but how does it have over 370,000 miles if you only drive it 1200 miles per year?

Not a silly question!

This truck (v6 tacoma) was my main truck for a very LONG time. I am the original owner... Couple years ago bought a v8 Tundra and no bark or rocks (for my yard) is touching that baby. lol
miles on the old truck are from old days. I now use it for house/yard related type work but anytime I start it, I make sure it runs at least 45 minutes to 1 hour before shutting it off.

No fires or smoke in Pullman yet. I don't haul or tow anything so this is more of a daily driver. I decided to just change it and do six or seven month intervals I'm going to use AC delco syn blend.

I just change the oil in my 2015 Silverado once a year in June/July. Rarely put more than 6000 miles on the pickup in a year. I really don't pay attention to the OLM. I just reset it so it doesn't bother me down the road. There are many things on the pickup I really don't pay much attention to or use. To get one thing you do want on a vehicle nowadays, you have to take a bunch of things you don't. And pay for all of it. This is why there is not a vehicle being made that really causes me to want it. I just get what I need to do what I need to do.
